Effect of silicon carbide modifiers on the physical-mechanical properties of gray cast iron and cast iron with spheroidal graphite

چکیده

The influence of mechanochemically produced modifiers on the properties cast iron at out-of-furnace modification has been studied. Short-term treatment in mechanochemical activators makes it possible to produce composite modifiers, which are wetted with melts, uniformly distributed therein and effectively crystallization processes. effect a modifier based silicon carbide chromium (as protector metal) physical-mechanical gray cast-iron spheroidal graphite is considered. introduction SiC amount 0.01-0.1 wt.% into causes formation mainly perlitic structure and, as consequence, an increase strength, hardness wear resistance. For content 0.1 wt.%, tensile strength GG-15 samples increased by 22.7%, GG-25 8%. maximal observed for concentration: – 0.1, 0.01 wt.%. sample exhibited highest (0.01 wt.%) ferrite content, promotes substantial impact viscosity resistance (the 0.05 SiC).
